Cherry Republic Paid Media Case Study

Gourmet Gift Retailer’s ROAS Jumps 340% with Four13

The Project Brief

Cherry Republic is a Michigan-born gifting and specialty foods business built around one thing: cherries. From bright salsas and chocolates to thoughtfully packed gift boxes, their stores and online shop ship “Up North” flavor to cherry fans across the country.

But while the brand story was sweet, their paid media performance was turning sour. Even with steady spend in Google ads, ROAS lagged and reports were heavy on data but light on direction. The team couldn’t see which campaigns were leading to profitable purchases or where the next dollar should go.

By mid-2025, it was clear they needed a more strategic, data-driven partner. Four13 stepped in as that partner, rebuilding paid media from a black-box cost center into a reliable engine for growth.

The Solution

The work started at the foundation. Four13 rebuilt Cherry Republic’s conversion tracking around high-quality purchase events, replacing a tangle of competing goals. With a single definition of success, campaigns could finally be measured on the same terms.

From there, Four13 refined the account strategy around intent. Performance Max became the core engine, supported by tightly structured search campaigns that captured both discovery and branded queries at their peak. Meta was given a precise role: build awareness, nurture interest, and retarget high-value visitors at the bottom of the funnel.

Creative tests, keyword expansions, and budget shifts were all aligned to a focused set of metrics: ROAS, conversion rate, and efficient use of spend. If an idea didn’t move at least one of those, it was cut from the plan. That discipline turned their messy ad accounts into a cohesive system that Cherry Republic could finally steer with confidence.

Key Improvements

Consolidated Conversion Tracking

By centering conversion tracking on completed purchases, the team gained a unified view of performance across their paid channels. This eliminated the confusion of conflicting metrics and gave Cherry Republic much better visibility into what was actually driving revenue.

Intent-Led Campaign Structure

Search and Performance Max now go after shoppers already in a buying mindset, while Meta does the strategic work of building demand and bringing recent visitors back. Each channel has a defined job, and together they move more of the right shoppers toward purchase.

Reporting Built for Action

Instead of dense reports that muddled priorities, Four13 rolled out simple views that connect performance to decisions: where to increase spend, what to pause, and which ideas to test further. Paid media shifted from “always on” activity to a channel the team can manage with purpose.

Sara Harding

VP of Marketing & Impact

“Working with Four13 has been a night-and-day difference from our previous agency. Their team is strategic and thoughtful, and they deeply understand what’s right for our brand. We’re seeing real gains in ROAS and revenue as a result. I now leave meetings feeling confident and clear, knowing our paid media is in expert hands.”

The Results in Numbers

In the year-over-year snapshot for July 1–Nov 30—the first full stretch after the strategy went live in June—ROAS soared, revenue and orders climbed, and spend fell. For Cherry Republic that meant stronger demand with far more efficient spend—and more capacity to keep investing in the orchards, farms, and communities behind every product.

340%

HIGHER RETURN ON AD SPEND

Cherry Republic’s ad dollars returned far more revenue than the year before. The strategy wasn’t just “spending less.” Rather, it was earning more per dollar.

41%

HIGHER OVERALL REVENUE

Paid media generated substantially more sales overall, showing that performance gains translated into real business impact—not just better-looking platform metrics.

35%

MORE PAID-ATTRIBUTED SALES

Improved efficiency didn’t come from pulling back—it came from driving more buying actions while running a leaner, smarter setup.

68%

LOWER AD SPEND

Spend dropped sharply, but the key point is that it happened while revenue and purchases increased—a strong sign of smarter allocation and less wasted budget.

Paid Media That Earns Its Keep

Cherry Republic’s results show that performance doesn’t always require a bigger budget—just sharper signals, tighter structure, and a partner who keeps paid media focused on what moves the needle. Now, Cherry Republic can chase its next chapter of growth on much firmer footing.
